Dr. Solanges Vivens is a visionary business leader who has been at the forefront of healthcare entrepreneurship and policy-making for over 40 years. As a Haitian teenager, she came to the United States as a non-English-speaking factory worker. She evolved through determination and education to blaze a path through the field of nursing and long-term care administration.
In 1988, she formed Vital Management Team, Long Term Care, Inc., commonly referred to by its acronym VMT, Long Term Care, Inc. VMT is based on one simple idea, “commitment to quality.” Dr. Vivens has never wavered from this concept.
In 2001, Dr. Vivens was recognized by the Minority & Business Professionals Network as one of the 50 Most Influential Minority Business Persons in America.
Dr. Vivens earned her Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Long Island University. She then progressed to a Master’s Degree in Health Services Administration from Georgetown University. Finally, in May of 2004, she received her Doctoral Degree in Human Letters from Voorhees College in Denmark, South Carolina.
In 2007, Dr. Vivens earned the District of Columbia Health Care Association Leadership Award for 20 years of making a positive difference in the association.
Now in retirement, Dr. Vivens is a highly sought-after speaker. She has lectured at notable institutions and organizations such as American College of Health Care Administrators (ACHCA); District of Columbia Health Care Association (DCHCA); Georgetown University, School of Nursing; Howard University Hospital, College of Allied Services; George Mason University and John Hopkins Nurses Alumni Association. In addition, she has written numerous articles on healthcare administration, aging, geriatrics, and nursing for local and national publications.
Dr. Vivens has authored two books which are both available on Amazon. Her first book, A Revelation: Walking Backwards into the Footsteps of St. Solange, is a book of both real-life mystery and miracles. Her research and discovery of her namesake Saint Solange of Bourges, France, spans from the 9th Century to the undeniable present-day parallels of herself. This book crosses time, culture, and continents resulting in a unique and motivational spiritual connection.
Her latest book, Girls Can Move Mountains: Rewriting the Rules of Female Entrepreneurship, recently came out and has received multiple accolades and 5-star reviews. This book takes her journey as a teenager in Haiti to the U.S. as a factory laborer who evolved into an entrepreneurial titan and policymaker in the healthcare industry. Dr. Vivens shares her 25 most important rules of life and business through this book to inspire the next generation of female entrepreneurs.
Dr. Vivens is the Founder, CEO, and President of Centres D’Etudes Classique de Meyer Fund, USA, a 501 (c)(3) organization providing support and education to more than 300 children a year in Meyer, Jacmel, Haiti since 2005.
After reaching the pinnacle of success in Healthcare Administration, she decided to venture into a new direction and form Vivens Media Group (VMG). VMG is a multimedia company generating highly educational and entertaining content through books, videos, short films, podcasts, and feature films.
Dr. Vivens is a multi-generational role model for women. She believes in the motto of “Moving Mountains” to attain one’s professional and personal goals.
